Clear Stacked Shaving Curl Block Resin Sculpture - 17cm
Clear Stacked Shaving Curl Block Resin Sculpture - 17cm $1,48500
Description

Curls of wood shaving tumble down the length of this slender block of high-clarity resin, square in section, stacked loosely one on another from just below the top almost to the foot. Each is a thin ribbon of honey-brown wood rolled into a tight spiral, and several are turned so their open ends face outward, showing the coils within. Fine streaks of grain run across every curl.

Honey-Brown Shaving Curls in a Slender Column

Thin as paper, the shavings turn a deeper amber wherever their layers overlap, and the fine lines of the grain show plainly along each ribbon. The resin is a high-clarity grade with smooth, polished faces, so the curls can be followed from every side as well as from above. Some coils are wound tight while others loosen at the outer edge into a lifted lip, which keeps the stack from looking regular. Being natural timber, the shavings differ in colour and curl, so each block is filled a little differently.

Slim enough for a windowsill, a bedside table or the corner of a desk, it also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who works with timber. At 17cm it stands at roughly the height of a paperback on a bookshelf. Morning sun on a sill warms the honey tones of the curls, and a pale wall behind keeps their spirals easy to read. Indoor use only.

Shavings, Timber Tones and a Safe Arrival

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. One block makes up the order, made individually after you place it. For a bespoke block, the curls can come from a paler or a darker timber, be packed tightly or spaced out with clear between them, or share the block with a few dried leaves, and both its height and its proportions can be altered. Boxed in close-fitting foam, it arrives ready for its sill or shelf. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Rolled shavings stacked in a slim column of clear resin suit our indoor sculptures; the casting itself belongs with our resin sculptures, its spiralling forms with our abstract sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.

Questions Before You Order?

If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
