Clear Stacked Disc Column Resin Sculpture - 50cm with rippled, twisting discs on a short foot, set on a black marble block, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Stacked Disc Column Resin Sculpture - 50cm $1,82300
Description

Discs are stacked one above another and each is turned against the one below it, on a short foot at the bottom. Colourless from the foot to the crown, so each disc is read by its own edge. A black marble block is supplied beneath. The discs are rippled at their edges, so each one catches the light in a broken line.

Discs Turned So None of Them Line Up

Each disc is set against the one beneath rather than to a drawing, so the stack leans a little and no two edges ever agree. That is the whole of it: a column of discs all facing the same way would read as a machined part, and every one of these is a few degrees off its neighbour. Stacking discs in one body means no two of them meet on a flat face, and an uncoloured casting is what makes that legible: every meeting returns a line and there is nothing else to look at. Polished over every disc and the turned foot beneath them.

A narrow shelf or a bedside will take it. Somewhere it can be turned is better than somewhere it cannot. A dark wall behind it, or the column loses every edge it has. One source off to the side finds each disc in turn; flat light closes them into one shape. The column carries; the discs separate at about a pace.

More Discs, a Tint, and a Small Crate

Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. On request the disc count goes up, colour goes into the body, or a different stone goes beneath it. Add discs and the foot is widened to carry them, since the stack leans a little further with each one. How far the stack leans is fixed at the drawing. A small crate, and the stone travels under the column. One person can lift it, with a hand beneath the stone. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear discs each turned against the last belong to our organic sculptures; the stacked casting sits among our resin sculptures, and it turns in the hand like others in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
