Clear Splintered Facet Rock Resin Sculpture on Timber Base - 88cm
Clear Splintered Facet Rock Resin Sculpture on Timber Base - 88cm $4,52000
Description

Broad and rugged, this clear resin rock is broken all over into sharp, glassy facets and splintered planes, more like a block of rock crystal than a lump of ice. Its outline climbs to a high rounded crest on the left, dips into a cleft, and runs on to the right as a flat-topped shoulder. A few small smoky-brown slivers and a peppering of fine dark flecks lie within the clear, with a cloudy pale patch low on the left side, and the whole rock stands on a long wooden base in honey-brown timber that is included with it.

Splintered Facets Over Honey Timber

Cast in imported clear resin, the rock is finished by hand to a fractured surface of crisp, angular facets, each catching the light on its own edge, so the piece sparkles rather than ripples. The smoky-brown slivers are few and slender, and the dark flecks are as fine as ground pepper, which keeps the clear looking natural rather than flawless. The base is a long wooden plank with sloping ends and a visible grain, and it runs the full width of the rock with a small margin at each end.

At this scale it needs the full length of a sideboard or a broad console in a hall or living room, with open wall above it so the faceted outline can be read. It is a piece to stand back from: across a room the crest and the cleft read like a distant mountain, and up close the facets glitter. Indoor use only.

Made for You, Crated with Its Base

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The price is for one rock together with its wooden base, and nothing more is needed to display it. Commissioned bespoke, it can hold more slivers or brighter gold ones, lose the flecks entirely, or take a redrawn outline, and other sizes can be made. At this size it travels in a wooden crate, and two people should share the lift when it goes into place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Splintered like rock crystal and stood on long honey timber, this broad rock keeps company with our resin sculptures, our abstract sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
