Clear Splash Ring on Gold Disc Resin Sculpture - 67cm, a ring-shaped splash in clear resin on a polished gold-toned steel disc base, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Splash Ring on Gold Disc Resin Sculpture - 67cm $2,58200
Description

This clear splash comes round almost into a ring, its two arms reaching towards each other at the top and stopping just short, and it stands on a polished, gold-toned stainless steel disc barely wider than its own foot. The ring is untinted the whole way round, so what colour there is comes from the gold beneath being carried up into the material at the foot. The disc shows the piece back in itself, which doubles the curve of the ring for anyone looking at it from above.

Standing on a Disc No Wider Than Its Foot

A wide form on a narrow foot is decided at the contact and nowhere else. The ring is wide and the disc under it is barely more than the width of the resin where the two meet, so there is no margin for the two faces to be anything other than flat against each other. A hair of daylight between them would run right round the joint and be visible from every side, because the material above it is clear and hides nothing. The disc has a second job beyond holding the piece up: its polished gold tone puts a warm reflection into the foot of a colourless object, which is the only colour anywhere on it. Change the metal and the whole reading of the piece changes with it.

The disc is part of the view, so it needs a surface that does not swallow it, and a dark wood top does. Gold on walnut or on a black stone reads as a shadow and the ring appears to float on nothing; on a pale surface it reads as gold and the piece gains its one warm note. A light-toned stone, a painted top or a glass shelf all do that. At 67cm it sits on a cabinet or a broad shelf rather than on the floor, best placed where the disc is seen at an angle and not edge on. A light from above brings the reflection up through the foot.

Resin Meeting Metal on a Narrow Contact, and Delivery

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The ring meets the disc across a foot nearly as broad as the disc itself, and everything about this piece standing straight depends on that contact. The disc comes in this gold tone, in bright silver or in black. The ring is drawn to any height on the same disc, and a tint can be run into the foot where the metal is picked up. It arrives in one foam-lined case with the ring faced and the disc packed flat beneath it, and the two are put together on site: the disc is set down and levelled, then the ring is lowered onto it and held around the body rather than at the top. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear water coming round almost to a ring above a polished gold-toned disc belongs to our stainless steel sculptures, our organic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
