Clear Splash in a Round Black Dish Resin Sculpture - 90cm, a colourless wave form rising from a shallow black dish, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Splash in a Round Black Dish Resin Sculpture - 90cm $3,91400
Description

A colourless splash rises out of the shallow black dish it comes with. The dish is a plain circle in fibreglass and the water in it is not: the crest gathers on one side in a tall, ragged plume and a single long arm is thrown out clear of the rim on the other, curving up at its end. Everything above the dish is colourless, and at its widest the water reaches out well past the edge of the dish.

A Symmetrical Dish Under Asymmetrical Water

Putting irregular water in a perfect circle sets the two against each other, and the circle always wins an argument it is allowed to have. The dish reads as a finished shape from every angle, so any part of the splash that nearly lines up with the rim looks like a failed attempt to match it. The splash is therefore drawn to ignore the dish rather than to answer it: the crest gathers well inside the circle and the long arm crosses the rim entirely instead of stopping at it. There is no position where the two are parallel, and that is what keeps the dish reading as ground rather than as frame.

One arm reaches out past the rim, so the piece needs clearance on that side and not merely room for the dish. Set it where the reach crosses open air, at the end of a sideboard, on an island or on a low table approached from one side, and turn the arm into the room rather than toward a wall. The round dish alone asks for a broad surface, more than many low tables offer, before the arm is even counted.

A White Dish, the Reach, and Delivery

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The dish is a plain circle and the water standing in it is not, and the piece is built on that contrast rather than on any match between them. The dish comes in this black or in a white, the reach of the long arm is set with the order, and the water takes a tint of its own. A version with the splash contained inside the rim is made, and it is a quieter object than this one. It travels in one wide crate with the dish bedded flat and the splash faced; lift it by the dish, never by the arm. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Irregular water in a plain circle is organic sculpture; the splash is resin sculpture; and an arm thrown past the rim asks for indoor sculpture clearance.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
