Clear Splash Crown in a Black Bowl Sculpture - 70cm, resin water splash with pointed fingers rising from a black bowl, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Splash Crown in a Black Bowl Sculpture - 70cm $4,28200
Description

This cast resin sculpture is a colourless splash caught at the moment it opens, standing in the black bowl it comes with. A pool of clear water fills the bowl to its rim, its surface ringed with ripples, and from the middle of that pool the crown comes up in a ring of fingers that lean outwards and finish in points, the longest reaching out well past the rim on both sides. Outside, the bowl is a smooth black cone that narrows to its foot.

A Crown Rising From a Pool in a Black Bowl

Two materials meeting in a circle is a harder joint than it looks. The water is clear and the bowl is opaque, so the line where the pool meets the rim is the highest-contrast edge on the whole piece and the eye goes straight to it. That is why the pool is brought right up to the rim all the way round, with its ripples running out to meet it, so the black reads as the edge of the water rather than as a stand beneath it. Above it the crown is kept open, a wall of water breaking into fingers that lean out and thin to points, so the pool stays in view between them.

The black bowl is what makes the clear crown read, so it wants a pale surface under it rather than a dark one. On dark wood or black stone the bowl disappears into the surface and the crown appears to be floating on nothing, which sounds better than it looks. Pale stone, a light timber or a painted top all keep the bowl as a visible object. It is wide and very low, so it is met from above: a dining table or a low table puts the whole ring of fingers in view, and an overhead light picks out every point.

Where the Two Meet, and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The clear pool meets the rim of the bowl all the way round and any gap between the two shows as a dark line. The bowl is made in this black or a white, a tint can be run into the crown, and the width of the bowl is set to order. The height of the crown is set against the bowl at order, and a version with fewer fingers drawn up higher is available. It travels in one crate with the bowl packed separately from the crown and both faced, and it is put together on site by setting the bowl down level and lowering the crown into it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear crown of fingers rising from a rippled pool in a black bowl belongs with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
