Clear Smoke Ink Knotted Loop Resin Sculpture - 66cm, a twisting looped form with dark ink-like edges on a black marble base, set against a plain light grey background.
Clear Smoke Ink Knotted Loop Resin Sculpture - 66cm $2,02400
Description

Smoke-dark ink is drawn through this clear knotted loop, darkest along the lobed edges and at the foot and thinning to clear across the broad faces. The ribbon folds back through itself, leaving openings through the body, so the ink outlines each one. Black marble carries its foot and is part of the order.

Smoke Ink Along the Edges of a Knot

Ink gives a clear knot the outline that clear material cannot give itself. Where the ribbon turns, the ink collects into dark seams, so every fold of the knot reads as a drawn line; across the broad faces it thins until the resin is almost clear. The effect is a sculpture that reads like a brush drawing from across a room and like glass close to. No two castings carry the ink the same way, and the darkest seam always falls somewhere different on the loop.

Standing 66cm with its base, it belongs on a console against a pale wall, which is what the dark seams need to read. A window to one side gives the clear faces some life; a dark wall behind loses the ink altogether. The base is small, so it needs little room, but leave space behind it for the openings.

Ink Density, the Base, and Delivery

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The ink can be run heavier until the knot reads almost black, or lighter so that only the seams are drawn, and it can be taken toward brown or blue. A paler stone can be cut for the base if black is too strong for the room. It is packed in a foam shell fitted to the knot, base boxed alongside, and it comes out held round the body rather than by an opening. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear knot drawn in smoke-dark ink belongs with our abstract sculptures; seams of ink following every fold join it to our organic sculptures, and ink held in a clear casting like a brush line suits our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
