Clear Slab Black Rock Cast Resin Console, 124cm, with a rippled clear resin top on a clear blade leg and a black rock base, topped by a black peak, on a white background.
Clear Slab Black Rock Cast Resin Console - 124cm $5,80500
Description

This console's clear slab, rippled on top and torn at the edge, rests on a clear blade leg at one end and a black rock form at the other, with a second black peak standing on the slab above the rock. A few small amber flecks sit in the body of the slab. The two supports are nothing like one another, which is the point of it.

A Clear Blade and a Black Rock

The rock forms are worked in fibreglass rather than found in stone, which is why the same broken surface can be carried onto the peak that stands on the slab - a quarried block could not be matched to a second piece that way. The rock's top is worked to a flat seating before anything else, so the slab lands on the form itself. The amber flecks are dropped into the body while it is still live, so they hold their places at different depths instead of settling to the underside. The blade leg is cut from the same clear stock, and the three bearing points are brought to one level before the slab goes down on them.

It wants its own stretch of wall in a hall or an entrance. One end is a flat clear blade and the other a broken black mass, so the piece has a strong direction and reads quite differently from each approach. The peak stands on the slab, which means nothing wide can be set down at that end. The blade leg disappears against a pale floor and shows as a single line against a dark one.

The Rock, the Blade Leg, and Placing It

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The rock bedding is where it goes. Three things can change. The rock can be finished in any tone, the flecks can be left out for a wholly clear slab, and the blade leg can be tinted. Worktop reach and rock reach are made to the figures you give. Both pieces of a pair share the seating of the rock when they are ordered together. The torn edge and the standing peak are wrapped before crating, and the slab, the rock and the blade leg go in apart from one another. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Standing on a glass-clear blade and a broken black rock, this console belongs to our art furniture; the rock answers our organic sculptures, the rippled slab our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
