Clear Slab Black Rock & Acrylic Blade Console, 175cm, with rippled clear resin top, acrylic blade leg on black base, black rock pedestal, and small black peak, shown on a white background.
Clear Slab Black Rock & Acrylic Blade Console - 175cm $9,31500
Description

This console's top is clear resin, rippled and torn at the edge, and it rests on a clear acrylic blade in a black foot plate at one end and a rough black rock pedestal at the other. A small black peak stands on the slab directly above that pedestal, so one mass reads through the clear sheet and the other beside it.

A Rock at One End and a Blade at the Other

Torn edge and rippled face both come from the mould, so the texture carries over the top and round under the lip as one continuous surface. The rock pedestal is worked in fibreglass to a modelled outline; the blade is cut from solid acrylic and its two arrises are the difficult part, since an arris that wanders reads as a grey line. The peak is set from the pedestal below rather than from the ends of the slab, and the slab is checked flat on both diagonals before it goes on. The blade's foot plate is finished flat so the two supports can be brought to one plane.

It belongs against a long wall, in a hallway or an entrance. The two ends are different, so the piece has a front worth settling before it goes down, and the rock pedestal bears on a small footprint, so a hard level floor suits it better than a thick carpet. The slab overhangs both supports, so allow for the reach beyond them when measuring a wall.

The Rock, the Blade, and Setting It Level

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The rock pedestal is the slow part. At order, three things are open. The rock pedestal is drawn to your own outline, the peak can be set at either end or left off, and the blade is offered in a tinted acrylic. Slab length and pedestal height are each specified. Run them as one order and the outline of the rock pedestal agrees; run them apart and it does not. Its crate is shaped round the torn slab edge and the acrylic blade, and four people lift it from there. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear blade at one end ties this console to our acrylic sculptures; it serves a hall among our art furniture, and its rock pedestal belongs with our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
