A breaking wave is stopped inside this side table's solid clear cylinder: its crest curls over and its face is combed into fine striations, held in the thickness of the material rather than modelled on a surface. The top is cut flat across and polished, so the wave is looked down into as well as through.
The crest is formed in two halves of the mould and the body closed around it, so the wave sits at the middle of the section and is read from any side rather than off one face. The striations combed into the crest are the finest work on the piece and they have to survive the polish, which is why the outside is taken to a mirror before the top is cut. Holding a solid cylinder this deep free of air is what sets the schedule. The cut top is worked flat last and its arris left true rather than eased.
At 48cm this stands beside a chair as a drinks table, and the flat cut top is the only level surface on it. The crest is read through the body, so what is behind the cylinder becomes part of what is seen in it - a plain wall serves it far better than a patterned one. It is solid throughout and heavy for its size, so it stays where it is put.
The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. The set crest is what fills it. Three aspects can be specified. A cylinder of another height carries the wave at its own scale. The crest can be set at any point in the body and the material can be tinted. You give the cylinder span and the block height. Specify the whole group at once and the curl of the crest is held through it. The flat top and the set crest are boxed with the cylinder standing, so the piece bears on its own base the whole way. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A wave stopped mid-break inside a glassy cylinder answers our organic sculptures; holding a drink at an armchair it counts among our art furniture, the solid cylinder our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
