Description

An upright cylinder of clear resin holds a deeply modelled plume of ribs inside it, read through the polished wall rather than felt on it. The plume sweeps up from low on one side and curls over at its crest, and a second curl, a fraction of its size, rises where it ends. The cylinder is the frame for that form and nothing else: its outside is plain, round and clear, with a flat top, and everything happens in the middle of the material.

A Plume Standing Inside a Clear Block

The plume is modelled and set in position before the block is closed round it, so it stands where it was placed and the material carries no seam across it. Its curved wall and flat top are brought up to a mirror shine, so the plume can be followed deep into the cylinder; a ripple left on the surface would warp the form seen through it. The arrises are taken up sharp rather than eased, so the block reads as cut rather than moulded. The wall is kept truly round from top to foot, since any flat or bulge in it would bend the plume standing behind it.

At 45cm this is a table or shelf piece rather than a floor one, and it wants to be set where it is looked into rather than at. The plume is read through the curve of the wall, so it needs a clear background and a light that is not directly behind the viewer. It suits a console, a desk or a mantel.

The Plume, the Block, and Ordering More Than One

It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. The plume inside the block is the slow part. Ordering settles three things. The plume is modelled to your brief, the block can be supplied tinted, and the arrises can be eased instead of left sharp. Both the block width and the block height are yours to set. For a matching group, the position of the plume in the block is set once and carried through it. Its polished wall and top arris are wrapped clear of the crate sides, and it is lifted by two people, never by one. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
