Clear Seated Buddha on a Lotus Cast Resin Sculpture, 62cm, shown seated in meditation on a tiered lotus base against a plain white background.
Clear Seated Buddha on a Lotus Cast Resin Sculpture - 62cm $6,54700
Description

This cast resin sculpture is a seated Buddha, its hands at rest in the lap and its robes falling from both shoulders into deep folds across the knees. Under it is a double lotus base, its petals worked in two tiers, cast as part of the same piece rather than added to it. Everything is high-clarity colourless resin, so the folds are read as changes of thickness and the whole figure carries no colour of its own beyond what stands behind it.

Deep Robe Folds Read Through a Colourless Body

Deep folds and clear material pull in opposite directions. A fold is a change of thickness, and thickness in clear resin is tone, so a robe modelled for an opaque figure comes out of a clear mould as a set of grey bands with no drawing in them. The folds here are cut shallower than they look and set at a steeper angle, which reads as depth without going cloudy. The lotus is the other exercise: two tiers of petals with undercuts between them, which a rigid mould cannot release, so the base is formed in a flexible tool and the petal edges are worked back by hand afterward. The face is polished last and to a finer grade than the rest.

A seated figure at this height suits a low surface more than a high one: a console, a wide shelf, or a stone block on the floor where it can be looked at from above rather than up at. It reads best with quiet space round it and something plain behind - a busy wall passes straight through the clear body and takes the robes with it. Light from one side finds the folds; light from directly in front loses them.

Base Depth, Tint and Where a Seated Figure Sits Best

It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. The lotus base can be taken deeper or shallower, or dropped for a plain cushion, and the figure is offered in a smoke, an amber or a jade-toned tint as well as colourless. Size is cut to order and this design has been made both for a shelf and at hall scale. A frosted finish is available where a polished one throws too much light. It travels as one piece in a fitted crate, packed upright, and is a two-person lift at this size. Nothing is assembled and nothing needs fixing down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A Buddha seated on a double lotus belongs with our classic sculptures; robes read as changes of thickness lead to our resin sculptures, and a quiet figure for a meditation corner joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
