Description

A broad crown of clear resin spreads out over a slender, faceted stem on this little rock, leaning well past the left side of its foot so the whole form looks top-heavy. Its outline dips between a rounded knob at the top left and a sloping shoulder on the right. The surface is crinkled all over, like crushed ice or crumpled cellophane, and fine, thread-like strands in rust red run through the crown: one long strand loops across the upper left, and a small tuft gathers near the right shoulder. At 16cm it suits a bedside table, a windowsill or the corner of a desk.

Rust-Red Threads in a Crushed-Ice Crown

Imported clear resin is cast for the body, and every face is finished by hand to a crumpled, crystalline skin that throws back points of brightness from all sides. Beneath that glitter the resin stays clear enough for the strands to be followed: they are as fine as cotton thread, rust red deepening to brick where they bunch together, and they curl and branch rather than running straight. The stem is narrow and sharply faceted, and its crisp edges flash as the rock is turned. No two of these rocks hold their threads in the same pattern.

Its size makes it a piece for close quarters: a bedside table, a dressing table, a windowsill or a narrow shelf beside a reading chair. Against a pale wall the red threads stand out sharply, while a dark ground lets the crinkled crown sparkle, and morning sun from the side brings out both. Indoor use only.

Thread Colour, Crown and Delivery

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. Each order is for a single rock. To commission, the threads can be cast in another colour, set more densely or swapped for flakes of metal leaf, and the crown can lean out to the other side or sit squarely over its stem. Further sizes are available on request. It travels boxed in shaped foam, and because the crown overhangs, it is held around the stem and body together when it comes out of the box. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
