This low table is an oval hemisphere of clear resin, chipped and faceted outside, with its top worked into concentric ripple rings inside a raised rim instead of being left flat. The rings run the length of the oval, so they read as an ellipse rather than a circle, and the stock is thick enough to carry them without a support beneath.
The rings are worked into the upper mould face and set out from the long axis, so they open into an ellipse rather than a circle and the spacing has to be laid out for an oval before any of it is cut. The outside is broken to a chipped, faceted surface and left exactly as it came. The stock is thick enough for the top to carry the rings across an oval this wide with nothing under the middle. The rim is worked up round the whole outline and the bearing line ground true so the shell sits without rocking on a hard floor.
It fills the space in front of a sofa, and its two ends are narrower than its middle, so it leaves the walkways at either side clear. The ripple rings are read from above, which suits a room where people look down into it rather than a hall. It bears on a broad line round the whole shell, spreading the load on a soft floor.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The concentric ripple takes the bulk. Three decisions sit with you. The rings can be run more openly or more finely, and the plan can be worked to a rounder oval. Both the plan span and the shell height are yours to set. The group is made as one so that the spacing of the rings reads the same on each piece. The oval rim and the chipped shell go in packed clear of every face, and the crate is built to the oval rather than to a rectangle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
An oval of broken ice with rippled rings across its top gives our art furniture a low table; the rings suit our organic sculptures, the faceted shell our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
