Clear Rippled Slab Twin Black Rock Pillar Console - 140cm, with a black dome on the rippled resin top, set on two rough black rock pillars, plain white background.
Clear Rippled Slab Twin Black Rock Pillar Console - 140cm $7,83000
Description

In this console a colourless resin sheet, rippled across its upper face and torn along the edge, rests on a pair of rough black pillars shaped like split rock, and one low black dome sits on the slab directly over the left-hand pillar. The dome reads through the clear sheet as well as on it.

Two Rock Pillars and a Dome on the Slab

The slab's ripple and torn edge are modelled into the mould, and the torn edge is left exactly as the material finished rather than brought to a polish. The two pillars are formed in fibreglass to outlines modelled by hand and finished matt, so neither takes a reflection off the sheet above it. Each pillar is faced flat on top and the pair is levelled before the slab goes down, and the slab is checked on both diagonals. The dome is set from the pillar beneath it rather than from the ends of the slab, and that relation is settled before either is bonded.

This is a counter-height console for a hall or for the space behind a run of seating, and since the dome sits over one pillar and not the other, it has a definite left and right. Both pillars bear on small footprints, so it wants a hard level floor. The slab overhangs each of them, so allow for the reach beyond the supports when measuring against a wall.

The Pillars, the Dome, and Setting It Level

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The rock pillar casting sets the pace here. At order, three things are open. The two pillars are drawn to your own outlines, the dome can stand over either pillar or be left off, and a colour is taken through the slab. The slab length and the pillar height are whatever you specify. Several ordered together are worked so that the outline of the two pillars agrees. Its crate is shaped round the slab overhangs and the dome, and four people lift it from there. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two black rock pillars and a dome over one of them give our art furniture a console; the rocks belong to our organic sculptures, its rippled sheet to our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
