Clear Ribbed Acrylic Serving Tray with Brass Fitting (70cm) by Giant Sculptures, ribbed channel floor and plain sunken end with brass accent, on a plain white background.
Clear Ribbed Acrylic Serving Tray with Brass Fitting - 70cm $1,75400
Description

This is a long clear tray with a raised rim running right round it. The floor is not flat: most of its length is ribbed into close parallel channels, and one end is left plain and slightly sunk, where a small brass fitting stands proud of the surface. The tray is a single piece and sits low, its rim standing only a little above the surface beneath it.

A Ribbed Floor and One Plain End

Ribbing a tray floor and keeping it a tray is a matter of depth. Cut too shallow and the ribs read as a printed pattern; cut too deep and nothing will stand on them. Here they are taken to a depth that holds a glass upright between two ribs without rocking, which is a functional decision before it is a visual one. The plain end is sunk a little below the ribbed floor so anything liquid runs that way rather than sitting under a glass, and the brass fitting is set into the acrylic rather than glued on top, which means the recess for it is cut before the floor is polished. Every rib is polished, so the floor reads as glass.

A tray this long belongs on something long: a console, a kitchen island, the end of a dining table. The ribs run its length, so set it with the ribs pointing the way you walk past and they read as a bright grating; turned across, they read as a texture. Clear acrylic takes its appearance from what it lies on, so a timber or a stone surface gives it something to show. Keep it indoors and off a hotplate.

Rib Pitch, the Brass Fitting and Ordering Several

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. Rib pitch can be opened out or closed in, and the ribbed area can be run the full length with no plain end. The brass fitting is offered in a darker bronze or a bright chrome, and it can be left out. Plan size is cut to order, and a deeper rim is available where more is to be carried. A tint can be introduced. The tray arrives complete with nothing to assemble and is an easy one-person carry. It travels boxed flat with the rim protected on all four sides, an acrylic rim being the part that chips in transit. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ribs that hold a glass upright belong with our acrylic sculptures; a small brass fitting at the plain end leads to our metal sculptures, and a long tray to run down a console joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
