This resin torso reaches up and away to one side, so the piece leans out of its own base rather than standing over it. It is hewn in coarse planes with a pitted, hammered skin, and the resin stays clear, so the faces read as ice rather than glass. Under it is a block of black marble, polished, and the contrast between the two surfaces is the piece. The block comes with the torso.
The pitted skin is what keeps the clear resin from reading as glass: it breaks every reflection into small points, so the planes hold their shape as light moves across them. That texture has to be even across each face and change at every edge, which is a harder discipline than polishing, since a patch left smooth shows at once as a bright window. The lean is set by the cut of the seat where the torso meets the block, and the seat is bedded onto the marble so the two surfaces are in full contact rather than bridging on a high spot.
At 49cm the torso belongs on a broad shelf, a console or a sideboard, and like any clear piece it wants a dark ground behind it so the planes stand out. The lean gives it a direction, so turn the reach into the room. The black block reads as part of the sculpture rather than as a mount, so leave it visible and clear of a raised edge. It is heavy for its size and wants a surface that will take a point load.
Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. Block size is set at order and changes the proportion more than the torso does - a deeper block reads as a plinth, a shallow one as a base. It is offered in this black marble, a white marble, a granite or a dark timber. The pitted skin can be frosted over or polished smooth, and copper, silver or gold leaf set into the casting. Scale is cut to order. One crate carries the torso and the block apart from each other, and they are put together on arrival; either is a one-person carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A torso reaching up and out of its own base belongs with our classic sculptures; coarse planes with a pitted skin lead to our abstract sculptures, and clear resin over a polished block joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
