Clear Radiating Wave Top Acrylic Dining Table - 120cm
Clear Radiating Wave Top Acrylic Dining Table - 120cm $13,76300
Description

This dining table has a thick top of clear acrylic, carved into a wave that begins almost still at the centre and grows as it travels outward, finishing at an edge that is deliberately irregular rather than cut to a circle. Below it a black base rises as a trumpet, narrow at the top and spreading as it reaches the floor, its whole surface in fine vertical flutes.

A Wave That Radiates Out to a Broken Edge

A radiating wave has to grow at a constant rate or it reads as two patterns meeting. The carving starts from the centre and the amplitude is increased pass by pass toward the rim, which means the tool is doing something slightly different on every circuit and the depth is judged against the last pass rather than against a figure. The edge is then left unresolved on purpose: it follows where the wave happens to arrive rather than being trimmed back to a true circle, so no two tops finish on the same outline. The base's flutes are set out to spread as they descend, which is what keeps them looking even on a surface that widens.

It seats four generously or six at a squeeze, and the single base means no legs anywhere near a knee. You look down into the wave rather than across it, which makes a fitting above the table worth having and a lamp beside it almost beside the point. Keep a cloth off it. The black flutes below are the visual weight and they read best against a pale floor, where the spread of the base shows as a soft dark disc.

Edge Treatment, Base Flutes and Placing the Top

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. Top size is cut to order, and the edge can be trimmed to a true circle where the irregular outline is not wanted. Wave amplitude is open, from a faint ripple to a deep carve, and a tint can be put through the top. The base is offered in other colours and in a matt black, and the flute pitch can be opened out. Base and top travel separately and the top is set on last, on site, since a carved top this broad comes through a doorway far more easily on its own. The base is a two-person lift. The top wants two people as well, carried on edge and crated. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A wave growing out from a still centre belongs with our acrylic sculptures; a black trumpet base in fine flutes points to our metal sculptures, and a round top seating four with no leg near a knee joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
