A rounded mass riddled with openings on every face, some running right through the body and others stopping inside it, the whole surface left coarse. Colourless throughout, which leaves the openings dark and everything solid bright. A carved foot, dark and banded in gold, is part of what is bought.
A rock read through its openings has to keep material between them, and that is the whole problem of the design: every opening taken further thins what is left around it. They are no two of them the same size and none of them sitting on a grid, so what is left between them changes across the face. Uncoloured resin left rough everywhere returns almost no reflection, which is the point on a form carrying this much edge: every opening reads as shape rather than as a highlight. Rough over the whole of it, inside the openings as well, and no flat polish anywhere.
A study shelf suits it, or the top of a cabinet, so long as it stands clear of the wall. Give it a dark ground, or the openings stop reading as openings at all. Lit from behind the openings become a drawing; lit from in front they are only dents. The outline carries; the openings only sort themselves out within arm's reach.
It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. If you would rather more openings through the body, they are set out when it is drawn, and the foot can be cut to another plan at the same time. Cut the openings right through and the material between them thickens, since what remains is all there is to stand on. It arrives with the base packed beneath and needs nothing done to it. One person at the base, and the openings are not handles. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rounded rock riddled with openings leads to our organic sculptures; the coarse, colourless casting sits in our resin sculptures, and more for a scholar's corner is in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
