A rounded mass with two large openings worked right through it and the whole outer edge left ragged, narrowing to a foot at the bottom. Entirely colourless, and what the eye reads is the thickness of the mass rather than any tone in it. Nothing comes under it. The mass narrows to a foot at the bottom and stands on that.
Every opening taken out of a solid makes the remaining material do more work, and there is a point at which the piece stops being a mass with holes in it and becomes a frame around the holes. The two openings differ in size and sit off the axis from one another, so most positions give you one of them and a glimpse of the second, and there is exactly one place to stand where both are open. Two openings worked right through leave the body with very little section at its narrowest point, and it has to carry the whole mass there. Polished over a surface left deliberately rippled, so the light moves as you move.
A desk, a shelf or a mantel, at a height where you can see through it. A dark ground fills the two openings and makes them read; a pale one closes the piece up. Light that goes in at one opening comes out somewhere you did not expect, which is the reason to keep it within reach. It is small enough to be come upon rather than seen, and nothing about it carries across a room.
Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. The openings are opened wider, a tint is run through the mass, and the rim is left smoother. Cut a third opening and the section between them thins, so the piece becomes about the gaps rather than the mass. One small crate, bedded on the widest part with the rim packed clear. One person, one hand, and it is heavier than its size suggests. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rippled mass opened right through in two places belongs to our organic sculptures; its clear, rippled surface joins our resin sculptures, and a place within reach, where the openings can be looked through, suits the small scale of our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
