A colourless scholar's rock pierced again and again, with so little depth that it stands like a lattice. A broad oval opens near the top, three rounds cluster through the middle, and a pair of gaps sits at the foot beside the arm that reaches out to the left. The black marble block beneath it is supplied too.
Without colour the piece is all edge. Every opening is cut clean through and polished, and because the body is so shallow the webs between the openings are narrow bars of clear resin, each one showing a bright line along its length. Turned a few degrees the lines shift and the lattice redraws itself, and from the side it almost vanishes. It reads harder and more architectural than the blue-veined version, closer to cut crystal than to coral.
A credenza or a long shelf takes it at 46cm with its block, provided there is something worth looking at beyond it. People should meet it from the front, where the lattice is complete. Close plaster behind it greys the openings out; a window or an open room keeps them bright, and side light picks out every web.
Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. A light blue vein can be added, or a tint run through the whole body, and gold leaf can be set into the webs as well. How many openings it has is decided at order, a few broad ones or many fine ones, and a deeper body is made for a spot where it will be walked past. It travels with its block already fitted and foam in each opening, light enough for one person. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A colourless rock pierced into a lattice belongs with our abstract sculptures; narrow clear bars between six openings join it to our organic sculptures, and polished edges in an untinted casting suit our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
