Description

This long splash of clear resin hangs in the air like a wave seen side on, its whole length pierced with openings so that it reads as lace as much as water. From a broad, tangled body at one end it throws up a tall plume, gathers into a dense crest of spray towards the middle and then runs out into a long arm that sweeps upwards and curls over at its tip. Beneath the middle a second, slimmer arm trails down and forks at its end.

A Wave Drawn in Clear Resin Lace

The openings are what make this piece. Without them a splash on this scale would read as a heavy sheet; with them it becomes a web of ribs and holes, each edge rounded and glossy, so the eye passes through the water as easily as along it. The surface ripples everywhere, each rib holding a bright edge, and the holes turn dark or bright with whatever lies behind them. The plume, the crest and the curling arm give the long outline three clear moments of height, and the trailing arm below stops it from looking flat along its foot.

It is made to hang where it can be seen along its whole length: over a reception area, along a double-height hall or in front of a long, plain wall, with clear space above, below and on every side. Light from behind or from a window beyond makes the lace effect strongest, while spotlights pick out the plume and the crest. Keep it well out of reach of passing hands. Indoor use only.

Lace Openings, Tints and the Long Crate

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The price is for the single hanging splash, sold individually. Commissioned, the resin can be given a tint, even or graded along its length, there can be more openings or fewer, and the plume and the curling arm can be drawn higher or kept close to the body to suit the space it is to fill. It travels in a long crate with padding shaped around its ribs, so that no edge carries any weight on the journey. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
