Clear Overhanging Curl Wave Resin Sculpture, 71cm, by Giant Sculptures, arching curl with finger-like sprays reaching toward each other, on a black base against a plain light grey background.
Clear Overhanging Curl Wave Resin Sculpture - 71cm $2,02300
Description

A colourless curl leaves its foot on one side, climbs that flank and arches right over the top, then lets its tip fall as a spray of fingers: three hang down and one reaches out sideways. Beneath them a second spray rises from the same foot with its tallest fingers held up, so the two reach for each other across a narrow gap and stop short of touching. Between them a small arm curls inwards and ends in two prongs.

Fingers Reaching for Fingers Across a Gap

Everything on this piece is arranged around one interval, the space between the hanging fingers and the raised ones. Close it and the two sprays merge into a single knot; open it too far and they stop answering each other. Here they are held just apart, near enough for the eye to jump across. The curl that carries the upper spray is broad and heavy where it leaves the foot and narrows steadily as it travels round, so its reach ends in the slimmest part of the form, while the small forked arm curling in between gives the open centre a third point without crowding the gap.

At 71cm with its marble block, it belongs on a hall console or a sideboard, high enough that the gap between the sprays comes level with a standing visitor's eye. It is shallow from front to back, so it reads as a drawing from the front and as a single line from the side; turn its face towards the way people come into the room. Against a light, plain wall the clear fingers keep a crisp outline, and daylight slanting in from one side glints on each rounded tip. Indoor use only.

A Second Tint, a Longer Reach, and Delivery

Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The interval between the two sprays is the first thing to agree, since it decides how the piece reads from across a room. On commission it can be narrowed or opened, the curl drawn further out or held in closer over its foot, and the resin tinted through the curl while the fingers stay clear; the black marble block can be cut to other proportions. It is crated upright with every finger sleeved and the marble packed in a separate carton, and once both are unpacked the curl is lowered onto its block. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear curl letting its fingers fall towards the spray that climbs up beneath them leads to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
