A shelving unit as wide as it is tall, built entirely from clear acrylic. Uprights run the full height and shelves cross between them at uneven intervals, so the bays are of different heights and widths and no two openings in the piece are the same size. Because everything is colourless the unit reads as a grid of lines rather than as a piece of furniture, and whatever is put on it becomes the thing you see.
Scale is the difficulty. An upright of this height in clear acrylic has to be cast in one length - a joint would sit as a visible line at eye level - and it has to be thick enough to carry shelf loads over its full height without bowing, which puts a lot of material into a piece meant to look like almost none. The shelves are let into the uprights rather than sat on brackets, so each one is cut with a housing that matches the upright's section and the joint closes with no shoulder showing. Every housing is cut after the uprights are set out, because the uneven bay heights mean no two are in the same place and a batch cut to one drawing would not fit. The whole frame is polished after assembly.
A unit this size is a wall in its own right, and it is at its best used as one - dividing a long room without closing it, since you can see straight through it from either side. Against a solid wall it wants objects with some weight to them, as a clear frame gives a small item nothing to sit against. Its depth takes most books and all but the largest vessels. It needs a floor that is close to level along its full width.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The bay heights can be set out to your own drawing, and the unit can be made narrower or less tall on the same section. A smoked or graded acrylic is available if a completely clear frame is too austere. It ships as uprights and shelves with every housing pre-cut and numbered, and is assembled on site, which is the only way a frame this size gets into a normal room. Allow two people and a clear floor to lay the parts out on. Once together it is rigid but heavy, so it wants standing up in its final position rather than being walked across a room. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A grid of clear lines with uneven bays belongs with our art furniture; uprights cast in one length point to our acrylic sculptures, and a see-through divider for a long room joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
