This sculpture is a colourless cast resin wave drawn round in an open crescent on a block of black marble. From a broad trough the body sweeps up one side and arches over the top into a long crest, which reaches across the opening with two forked, bead-tipped prongs and a small upright fin behind them, while the far end of the trough rises in a spray of pointed tips. The body is thickest at the bottom of the curve and thins as it comes round, so the crest is the lightest part of the piece. Everything is polished, inside the curve as well as out.
How far round a curl is brought decides what it is. Stopped early it is a wave; closed completely it is a ring. This one is taken round into a crescent and then left well open, so the crest reaching over the top and the spray rising at the far end never meet, and the space between them counts for as much as the water. That only works if both ends are drawn as ends: the crest thins and forks into two prongs, the spray breaks into points, and neither reads as a part that has gone missing. The inside of the curve faces the opening, which makes it the face that matters, so it is finished as fully as the outside.
The opening is what the eye goes to, so it needs something behind it worth seeing. A blank wall close behind fills it with the same tone as the surroundings and the point of the shape disappears; depth behind it, a room carrying on, a window or a lit recess, turns the opening into the subject. At 77cm with the marble block it belongs on a sideboard or a long console, where the crest rides close to eye level. It is a colourless piece and takes its tone from what it is seen against, so a dark ground gives the body an outline. Light from the side rakes round the curve and shows the taper.
In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The curl is taken round into a crescent and left open between the crest and the spray, and how wide that opening is left is the whole composition. The opening is drawn wider or brought in closer to order, an amber is carried through the body where colourless is not wanted, and the black marble can be swapped for a pale stone. The scale is set at order, and a version closed into a complete ring is made where no opening is wanted. It arrives boxed alone, the crest faced and the marble packed beneath it, and it is assembled on site by levelling the marble first and lowering the curl onto it by its foot. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
An open crescent of clear water whose forked crest reaches across towards the spray at its far end belongs among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
