Clear Ochre Sliver Jutting Crest Rock Resin Sculpture on Black Marble Plinth - 128cm
Clear Ochre Sliver Jutting Crest Rock Resin Sculpture on Black Marble Plinth - 128cm $2,49600
Description

This small, upright rock of clear resin rises from a narrow, squared foot to a broad, angular crest that juts out to one side, its faces broken into flat planes and sharp edges like a split block of ice. Slender, blade-like slivers in ochre and tan are caught at different angles inside, mostly in the crest. The rock comes with two supports of black marble: a small base directly beneath it and a tall squared plinth below that.

Ochre Blades in an Angular Clear Crest

Its faceted planes, in imported clear resin, are clear enough to show the slivers from the front and the sides, while frosted patches and fine fractures give it the look of natural quartz. The slivers are matt and papery, ochre along their length with darker edges, and they lie edge-on in some places and face-on in others, so they flash and vanish as you pass. The base and the plinth are both black marble with plain, smooth faces, the small base a step narrower than the plinth so the two read as one stepped pedestal.

Standing 128cm overall, it needs no furniture beneath it and holds its own as a floor piece in an entrance hall, by a doorway or where a corridor ends. Give it clear floor space so it can be seen from every side, and a plain, pale wall behind so both the black plinth and the clear rock stand out. A spotlight from above makes the ochre slivers glint. Indoor use only.

Rock, Base and Plinth, and How They Arrive

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. One rock, its marble base and its plinth make up the order, sold individually. On commission the slivers can give way to gold leaf or dried leaves, the rock can be modelled at a different scale, and the plinth can be cut from a different stone or finished in a paler colour. The three parts travel in separate crates; with the plinth standing level on a firm floor, the base goes on first and the rock is lifted onto it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An angular crest of clear resin flecked with ochre, raised on black marble, stands with our resin sculptures; its broken planes belong to our abstract sculptures, and as a floor piece it joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
