Description

Long, low and rounded at both ends, this pebble of clear resin swells along its top into two gentle domes, one left of centre and one towards the right, and each is ringed with concentric ripples like the circles that spread when a stone drops into still water. Elsewhere the surface is rippled and finely pitted. Muted ochre and dark brown flakes lie in patches through the body, softened by the textured skin into a hazy, autumnal mottling. It is sold as one piece.

Ripple Rings Around Two Low Domes

Imported clear resin forms the pebble, and its whole upper surface is finished by hand, the rings around each dome left as raised, glassy ridges and the ground between them given a soft, rippled grain. Seen from above, the rings draw the eye to the domes; seen from the side, the flakes show as a band of warm colour inside the clear. They are irregular and thin, ochre in some places and a deep brown in others, gathered in loose drifts rather than spread evenly. The rings and the drifts of flakes are never quite the same twice.

Laid on a coffee table it can be looked down into, and from there the rings around the domes read clearly; it rests just as happily along a console or a broad shelf. A picture or a mirror above it completes a calm, horizontal arrangement, and an overhead light warms the ochre drifts. Indoor use only.

The Rings, the Flakes and Packing

Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. One pebble is supplied per order. As a commission it can be made with a single dome or with three, the rings can be drawn closer or wider apart, and the flakes can be gathered more densely, changed to gold or copper leaf, or left out for an entirely clear piece. It can also be cast at other lengths. It is boxed flat in shaped foam, and it comes out of the box held at both ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
