Clear Milky Seam Squat Rock Resin Sculpture - 20cm
Clear Milky Seam Squat Rock Resin Sculpture - 20cm $1,68600
Description

This squat, chunky rock of clear resin is close to a cube in its proportions, with a domed crown and flanks that break into broad fractured planes and deep creases, like a lump of river ice. A milky white seam crosses the front face on a slant, a single cloudy passage through otherwise water-clear resin, and nothing else is held inside it. At 20cm it sits comfortably on a bedside table or in a gap along a busy bookshelf.

A Milky Seam Across Broken Ice

It is cast in imported clear resin and finished by hand, face by face. The fractures stay crisp where two planes meet, while the hollows between them are left pitted and finely rippled, so the surface reads as split ice rather than a smooth moulded shell. The seam is a band of cloudy white crossing the clear, and because each block is worked on individually, its angle and its width vary from one piece to the next, as do the creases and ridges around it.

On a desk or a shelf it holds its own beside books, ceramics or a line of collected stones, and it is the kind of object a hand reaches for. A dark wall or a painted shelf back brings the white seam forward, while a pale surface lets the whole block read as a piece of ice. Indoor use only.

Your Block, Its Seam and the Journey Home

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. Each order is for one block, cast and finished once the order is placed. As a bespoke commission it can be cast without the seam for a wholly clear block, or with a faint tint of smoke or amber through the resin, and it can be produced at other sizes. It travels wrapped in foam inside a stout carton, and it can be unwrapped and put straight out on the day it arrives. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A squat block of clear resin crossed by a milky seam joins our resin sculptures, our abstract sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
