Clear Looped Splash & Spire Resin Sculpture, 104cm, coiling into a spiral with a twisting spire above, on a black marble base, plain white background.
Clear Looped Splash & Spire Resin Sculpture - 104cm $2,79200
Description

Supplied on a black marble block, this colourless cast resin sculpture rises from a low splash and sweeps up and round into a spiral, its band of water coiling inward to a curl at the centre. From one side of the spiral a stream climbs out, twisting as it rises, throwing small forked fingers to the side and narrowing into a spire that forks at the top into long, thin points. The spire leaves the loop off centre and leans as it goes, which is what stops the piece reading as a diagram of a fountain. It is colourless throughout.

A Spiral Below, a Forked Spire Above

The piece is drawn as one movement read from the bottom up. The water leaves the splash at the foot, sweeps up and round in a broad band and coils inward to a tight curl at the centre, and the eye follows that coil before it finds the stream leaving one side of it. From there everything narrows: the stream twists as it climbs, throws off a few small forked fingers, and thins to a spire whose last stretch forks into long, thin points, one reaching well above the other. Because the spiral is broad and the spire is fine, the piece reads as water gathering itself low down and then escaping upward.

The spire is what the eye follows, so it needs height above it rather than beside it. Under a low ceiling the top of the spire arrives too close to the surface above and the rise stops feeling like a rise. At 104cm with its marble it is narrow in plan, so it takes almost no room and will stand on a console or a hall table where something wider could not. It should be met from a little way off: close to, the loop fills the view and the spire disappears above the eye, while from across a room the two read together as one movement, which is what the piece is.

The Thinnest Part Stands Highest, and Delivery

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The spire is the thinnest thing on the piece and it stands highest, so it has to be true before anything else is right. The spire is drawn to any height, the spiral is wound tighter or opened out, and the foot can take a tint. The lean of the spire is set at order, or taken out for a piece that stands dead upright. The spire is boxed inside a rigid collar of its own within the crate, with the marble packed beneath it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A loop with one spire out of it is organic sculpture; the colourless body is resin sculpture; and a spire that thin is indoor sculpture and nothing else.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
