A colourless wave that rises at one end into a broad crest and throws a long arm up and across from its top, reaching high over the open middle of the piece to finish in a forked tip. At the far end a narrower crest stands up on its own, pierced by a small round opening and drawn to a slender point that leans back towards the arm. Low between the two, a cluster of short fingers lifts from the foot, and at the near end a flat wing reaches out sideways with a round hole through it. Everything is left untinted, from the foot to the fork.
The arm is the piece and it is also the thing most likely to be damaged. It leaves the top of the broad crest and climbs on a long diagonal with nothing beneath it but the open middle of the wave, which is exactly the shape a sleeve, a cuff or a passing elbow finds first. It is drawn as a rippled ribbon rather than a rod, broad where it leaves the crest and narrowing as it rises, until it divides at its end into two short prongs. The two openings near the top of the crest keep the shoulder it springs from light to the eye, and the round hole in the wing below answers them at the foot, so a glance steps up from hole to hole before it reaches the fork.
Approached from the end it is almost nothing, so it has to be met along its side. A hall console, a long shelf or the back of a sideboard all present it correctly; a corner or a narrow return gives you the end view, which is the one that does not work. It wants a long, clear stretch of surface but hardly any depth, and the arm should reach out into the room rather than towards a doorway.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The long arm reaches across the open middle touching nothing, and it is the first thing a knock finds. The length is cut to order, the arm is drawn back or taken off altogether, and a tint can be run up from the foot. The far crest is set against the arm so the two stay in proportion at any length. It travels in one long case laid flat with the arm sleeved for its whole run and the far crest faced separately, and it is lifted by the foot, which is the solid part, and set down in one movement. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
With one long arm flung up and across its open middle, this clear wave sits among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
