Clear Lion on a Fluted Clear Column Resin Sculpture, 99cm, by Giant Sculptures, lion in profile atop a fluted clear column with stepped base, plain light background.
Clear Lion on a Fluted Clear Column Resin Sculpture - 99cm $3,84700
Description

A lion in clear resin sits in profile at the top of a slender column, its heavy mane curled and lightly frosted and one forepaw raised. The column is clear as well: fluted in a band below its cap and left plain down the shaft to a stepped foot. The column is part of the piece and comes with the lion.

A Clear Lion at the Head of a Fluted Column

The mane is the one textured passage on the piece: its curls are left with a fine frosted skin, so the head reads against the polished body and the clear shaft below. The flutes are cut in a band beneath the cap, which gives the column a capital without changing its material. Lion and column meet on a flat seat, and both are taken to the same polish so the join disappears. The shaft is left plain, so the eye travels up it to the lion. Every edge of the column is kept crisp.

At 99cm the piece stands on the floor, where the lion comes to the height of a seated visitor: beside a doorway, along a hall, closing a run of shelving. A darker wall behind it brings out the clear column, and light from one side catches the frosted mane. Two set either side of a doorway make an entrance of it.

The Lion, the Column and Delivery

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The shaft can be made to another height, and it can carry gold leaf or a tint. A gilded or a tinted lion can be set on the same column, and the mane can be polished clear instead of frosted. The fluted band can be deepened or left off. The lion can face the other way, so two make a pair either side of a door. A fitted crate brings it whole, and two people set it upright. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear lion in profile on a fluted column belongs with our lion statues; a heavy curled mane leads to our figurative sculptures, and lion and column in one clear resin join our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
