Description

The top of this clear acrylic dining table is cast as a great lily pad, its ribs running out from an off-centre point to a deeply scalloped rim, the sheet rising and dipping as they go. It stands on a matt black flared trumpet base finely ribbed the whole way round, so the ribbing above and below runs in two directions.

A Lily Pad Ribbed From Its Own Centre

The ribs are modelled into the mould and radiate from a point set off the centre, so the top is not symmetrical and reads differently from each side of the table. The scalloped rim is a cast edge, left as the material finished. Bringing an acrylic top of this diameter to a true plane is what sets the schedule, and it is checked against a straight edge on both diagonals before the base goes under it. The ribbing on the base is turned rather than modelled, so it holds its pitch as the trumpet flares, and the two ribbed surfaces never meet.

This is a round dining table for a family room or a kitchen, and its circle takes an odd number of diners more easily than a rectangle can. The ribs radiate from off centre, so it is worth deciding which side faces the room, and the black base lets it stand on a busy floor without competing.

The Ribs, the Rim, and Getting It Through a Door

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Most of it is the lily pad top. Three aspects can be specified. The rib count is open, the base is offered in a gloss finish, and the scalloped rim can be run plain where a quieter top is wanted. Top diameter and base height are cut to your figures. Both pieces of a pair share the turn of the ribs from the centre when they are ordered together. The packing is shaped to the scalloped rim and the ribbed base, and moving it is a four-person job. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ribbed black trumpet under the lily pad ties the table to our metal sculptures; the cut top belongs with our acrylic sculptures, and the dining table with our art furniture.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
