Clear Leaning Splash Spire cast resin sculpture, 64cm, rising from a curved cup-like base to a slender pierced spire, on a black block, white background.
Clear Leaning Splash Spire Cast Resin Sculpture - 64cm $1,89900
Description

This cast resin sculpture carries no tint at all: a clear splash rising to a single leaning spire on a small black block. Its foot is a deep, curved cup of spray; from one side of it a short spray of fingers rises, and from the other one column climbs and leans well over, dividing into a broad, pierced sheet of water and a slender limb that breaks at the top into three fine points of unequal height. Every surface is polished. With nothing in the material, there is nothing to look at but the shape itself and what light does to it.

Nothing Added to It At All

Nothing is added to it, so everything rests on the clarity of the material and the polish. That is a harder brief than it sounds. A tint hides a great deal: a faint cloud, a fine bubble or an unevenness anywhere in the body. None of those could hide in a piece that is meant to be water rather than glass. Here every surface carries the same unbroken polish, the inside of the cup at the foot included, and the column, the pierced sheet and the three points at the top are as clear as the spray below them. Any single flaw anywhere in the body would be visible from every angle, so the clarity is the whole of the piece.

At 64cm on its block, set on a cabinet or a sideboard, it reaches about eye level, and it needs a dark ground behind it. Against a pale wall a clear piece has no outline at all. The eye finds a few highlights and nothing else, whereas against a dark panel, a black-backed shelf or a window at night the whole form comes forward. A wall of dark book spines or a deep study shelf gives it that too. Light from one side and slightly behind is what fills the column; a light in front of it produces glare on the polish and very little else.

Clarity Is the Whole Schedule

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. There is nothing in the material to hide a cloud or a bubble, so the clarity is the only thing there is to get right. The foot of the splash can take a tint, and the spire is drawn to any height or broken into several points. The span of the cup at the foot is set at order, and the block comes in this black or in white. Each point is faced before it is cased in foam, and on site the block goes down first and the splash is lowered onto it, held by the cup at the foot. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Nothing added and nothing tinted: organic sculpture in the form, resin sculpture in the material, and indoor sculpture because a clear piece needs a ground to be seen against.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
