Description

A trunk splaying out into a root foot and dividing into branches that rise well above their spread, with leaves modelled along all of them. Colourless throughout, so what the eye follows is the thickness of each branch rather than any change of tone. Nothing comes under it. The trunk splays into a root foot that the whole thing stands on.

Every Leaf on Its Own

A tree is the one subject in this range where the detail cannot be simplified: a branch with ten leaves on it reads as a diagram, and the only way past that is to model every leaf separately and accept what that costs. The branches are not symmetrical and do not divide evenly, so the tree has a side it grew toward, and which way that faces into the room is worth deciding on the day. No two leaves on it are the same, and each is carried on a stem a few millimetres thick that the material has to hold up without any help. Polished on the trunk and the branches, with the leaves left as they came so they catch light differently from the wood.

A hall, a wide landing or a conservatory, with room on the side the branches reach into. A dark ground gives every leaf an edge; a pale one leaves the whole tree as a faint drawing. Light from behind separates the leaves from the branches; from the front they merge into one mass. The reach is what registers from the door, and the leaves are a reward for standing under it.

More Branches, and How It Arrives

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. More branches are drawn or fewer, a tint is run into the trunk, and the reach is taken further out. Take the reach further out and the root foot is broadened, because the branches lean to one side of it. Every branch is packed on its own inside one crate, and the tree is lifted out by the trunk with the root foot going down first. Two people, both hands on the trunk, and no branch should be used as a handle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear tree with every leaf modelled on its own belongs to our organic sculptures; its trunk and leaves alike join our resin sculptures, and a conservatory, or a landing open to one side, is its setting among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
