Description

Angular slabs of clear resin fan upwards and outwards from a narrow trunk on this rock, like a spray of ice shards thrown up from one point. The slabs are broad and flat-faced with crisp edges along the top, splaying to the left, to the right and straight up, while the trunk beneath them is pitted and glittering. Slender, tapering blades in khaki and olive brown are held in the upper slabs, two of them side by side near the top and a broader, twisted one to the right. At 21cm it sits neatly on a shelf, a desk or a hall table.

Khaki Blades in a Spray of Shards

Imported clear resin gives this rock its body, and its slabs are finished by hand so that their broad faces stay glassy while the trunk keeps a fine, pitted texture, which makes the slabs seem to float above it. The blades inside are long, narrow and pointed, marked along their length with fine parallel lines, and their colour moves between khaki and a deep olive brown. Every blade is tilted differently, so turning the rock brings one forward while another narrows to a dark line. The fan of slabs is drawn by eye, and no two rocks splay alike.

Placed among upright spines on a bookshelf, on a study desk or on a hall table, it holds its own without crowding the surface around it. A plain wall behind lets the fan of shards read clearly, while daylight or a lamp off to one side sets each of the flat faces flashing in turn. Indoor use only.

Blade Colour, Fan and the Crate

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. One rock is supplied for the price. As a commission the blades can give way to flakes of metal leaf, grow in number or be left out, and the slabs can be fanned wider or drawn closer together for a quieter outline. It can be produced at other sizes on request. It goes out in a padded crate, and because the top edges are sharp, it is lifted by the trunk with a hand beneath the slabs. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
