This short column has its faces cut into broken planes and a narrower stepped cap at the top, where a guardian lion sits with flecks of gold caught in its mane and chest. The leaf in the shaft is laid in broad patches, bright where it sits near a face and olive where it lies deep. Lion and column are supplied together.
On a short shaft the leaf is the drawing, so it is laid in broad patches rather than a scatter, each set at its own depth so the gold reads as layers inside the block. The faces are cut into shallow planes that catch the patches from different angles as you pass. The stepped cap is cut narrower than the shaft, which gives the lion a plinth of its own, and the lion's curls are cut deep before the whole piece is polished. No two castings lay the patches alike, so each column carries its own pattern of gold.
At 73cm it sits beside a sofa, on a wide hearth or at the end of a low bench, where the lion is met at the height of a seated person's shoulder. A lamp to one side wakes the gold; a plain wall behind keeps the patches readable. A pair can flank a fireplace, each priced singly. It needs only a level floor and nothing tall close behind it.
Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The patches of leaf can be gathered more tightly, scattered, swapped for silver or omitted, and the faces can be polished smooth instead of cut. The lion may be clear as here, gilded or tinted. It comes in one crate with the lion wrapped separately, and it is placed by one pair of hands, taken by the shaft and never by the cap. Both parts are polished all over before they leave the workshop. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A short ice-cut shaft with a lion on its cap belongs with our lion statues; a stepped cap that lifts the animal leads to our figurative sculptures, and gold set in broad patches deep in the block joins our resin sculptures.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
