The four faces of this resin column are not smooth: they are cut into irregular facets and left rough, like a block broken rather than made, with gold leaf caught in the resin behind them. The arrises stay straight and true, which is what holds the shape together. The lion seated on the flat cap is clear as well, with gold flecks caught in it like those in the shaft. The figure quoted takes in the shaft and the lion together.
Rough faces on a clear material are read from behind as well as in front. Each facet refracts what is behind the shaft, so a face left rough turns the far side into a mosaic and the leaf inside is multiplied into a dozen small gleams; the effect is the whole point and it cannot be adjusted afterwards, because a facet cut too deep cannot be filled. They are worked from the arris inward for that reason, taking the shallowest cut first. The arrises themselves are the discipline: four rough faces will read as an accident unless the edges between them are dead straight, so those are trued last, after every facet has been cut.
At 130cm over the two parts this stands on the floor with the lion at about shoulder height. It suits an entrance, a stair foot or the space beside a doorway, and two can face each other across an opening; this price covers one column. Light matters more than usual: a lamp or a window to one side sets the facets working against each other, while a flat overhead light leaves the shaft grey and finds only the lion on top.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The faces are made rough as here or brought to a full polish, and the leaf is gold as here, or silver, or copper, or the shaft is made with none in it. The animal on the cap is made as this lion, as a sphere or as a lotus bud, and its scale against the shaft is settled at order. It ships upright, cased, with the lion boxed apart and seated by hand once the shaft is standing; handle the shaft by its faces rather than its arrises, which are the sharpest part of it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A lion over an ice-cut column belongs with our lion statues; faces left rough on purpose lead to our figurative sculptures, and leaf caught behind broken facets joins our resin sculptures.
| Column | H110.7 x W18 x D18cm |

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
