The head is held level and faces out to one side, and the mane streams back behind it in long separate locks, each drawn out to a point. Below the throat the neck runs down into a narrow stem with notched, broken edges like rough rock, which spreads at the bottom into a flat foot. The whole piece is optically clear and polished.
A heavy head on a narrow stem puts everything on one join, and the join is the piece. It is cut with a generous fillet where the throat meets the rock - more than the silhouette wants - because a crisp junction there would look elegant and be the first thing to go. That fillet is then worked back by hand until it reads as the neck disappearing into stone rather than as a repair, which is a judgement made on the finished object and not before. The mane is the other consideration: it is cut as separate locks streaming back, each drawn to a point, and the hollows between them have to be polished as cleanly as the locks, since clear resin shows every ripple a tool leaves.
At 50cm this is a console, sideboard or shelf piece, and it reads from three-quarters rather than straight on, where the streaming mane and the line of the stem both show. Set it where the stem is not against a wall, because the space under the head is part of what makes it work. It wants light from above and slightly behind, which fills the mane and leaves the stem dark. On a pale surface the stem almost disappears and the head appears to float.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. Stem height is set at order, from this short one up to a full column, and it can be made smooth and square rather than rough. Tints of amber, smoke, green and a pale blue run through the whole piece, and frosting the stem alone against a clear head is offered. Two heads facing each other can be made for a pair. Sizes are cut to order in both directions. Head and stem arrive already joined in one fitted crate with nothing to do on site; one person can place it, taking it around the stem rather than by the mane. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear horse head with a streaming mane belongs with our horse sculptures; a stem notched like broken rock leads to our animal sculptures, and head and stem cast in one clear piece join our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
