A small guardian lion sits on the stepped cap of a tall square column, its head gilded and its body left clear. The column is clear resin with a light scatter of gold leaf, and up its front face climbs a gilded relief: a bird perched on a branch beneath broad leaves, standing over a low mound, with sprays of finer branches nearer the foot. The price covers both lion and column.
The relief is cut proud of the face and gilded, so each leaf and feather stands as solid gold against the clear shaft and holds a thin line of shadow along its edge. The leaf in the resin is kept sparse here, which leaves room around the scene and lets the bird read at a distance. The cap is cut with a stepped edge, which crowns the shaft in its own material, and the lion is seated on it by hand. Only the lion's head is gilded, so the gold of the finial answers the gold of the relief without the animal turning into a lump of metal.
At 168cm its place is the floor of an entrance hall, a landing or the foot of a stair, where the lion looks out just above a standing visitor's eye and the relief falls between waist and shoulder. A plain wall behind it lets the gold read cleanly, and light from the side catches the edges of the relief. A pair flanking a doorway turns it into a formal entrance.
Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The scene can be changed at order: blossom, bamboo or a pair of birds in place of this one, or no relief at all. The gold may give way to silver or copper, the scatter of leaf in the shaft can be thickened or left out, and the lion can carry gilt from head to tail or none at all. Column and lion travel together in a long crate, the lion cased on its own and seated on arrival; two people should raise the column. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A lion keeping guard from a stepped cap belongs with our lion statues; a bird beneath broad leaves on a tall shaft leads to our classic sculptures, and a shaft holding a light scatter of leaf joins our resin sculptures.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
