Description

A clear guardian lion with a dark gilt collar sits front facing on a black square cap at the top of this column. Below it the clear shaft carries two scenes in black and silver, one above the other: a long-tailed bird perched on a branch under hanging leaves, and beneath it a slender flowering stem. Lion, cap and column come together as one piece.

Bird and Branch Inside a Clear Shaft

The scenes sit inside the shaft rather than on its faces, so the drawing stays crisp and the clear resin in front of it acts like glass over a picture. Black and silver are the only colours, which keeps the column quiet beneath the lion. The black cap divides the two, giving the lion a firm ground to sit on, and the edges of the shaft are kept sharp to the foot. The lion's collar carries a dark gilt band, the one touch of colour above the black and silver.

At 120cm it stands on the floor with the scenes at about chest height, which suits a hallway, a landing or a doorway where people pass close. A pale wall behind shows the black drawing best. The scenes are worth reading close, so it belongs where people pass within arm's reach rather than across a room.

The Scenes, the Lion and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The scenes can be drawn with other subjects, bamboo, blossom or cranes, and the lion can be gilded or tinted instead of clear. The collar can be gilded brighter or left clear, and a gilded or bronze lion can sit on the same column. The cap can be black as here or matched to the shaft. The column height is set at order. Delivery is a single crate at full length, and a second person is needed to stand it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
