A colourless rock curling over at the head, with torn gold leaf packed into the curl and along the left side and thinning to scattered flakes elsewhere. Its three round openings run down the middle. Everywhere else its surface ripples, and each ripple is polished. It is set on the black marble base it is sold with.
Gold leaf gathered in one place gives a clear rock a focus. Here it fills the curl of the head and runs down the left side, so from one angle the top of the piece is a mass of gold and from another it is clear, while the three openings below pass straight through untouched. The flakes are torn, flat and set at many depths; across a polished ripple they show as short bright marks. No two pieces hold the leaf alike, since torn leaf never falls the same way twice.
At 57cm with its base it suits a desk or a sideboard under warm light, which is what wakes gold leaf; a cold downlight dulls it. Set against a dark wall the leaf is at its brightest. Turn the gilded curl toward the room rather than the wall, and give it a little space so the curl reads against what is behind.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The leaf can stay gathered in the curl, as here, or be scattered evenly through the whole rock, in gold, silver or copper. The rippled body can be tinted. A paler stone is offered for the base, and the curl itself can be drawn tighter or looser to order. It is packed in a fitted foam bed with the base in its own box, and it is lifted round the body, not by the spiked lobes of the outline. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear curled rock packed with gold leaf joins our abstract sculptures; three openings left clear beneath a gilded head suit our indoor sculptures, and torn leaf set at many depths through the ripples places it with our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
