This cast resin stag stands square on its legs with the head up and turned slightly, under a light rack that branches twice on each side. Gold leaf is suspended through the clear resin everywhere, including the antlers and the legs, so the flakes catch as gold where the material is thin and go dark where the body is deep. The legs are slender, the body is modelled plainly, and the whole animal is polished.
Leaf inside a small animal is a different problem from leaf inside a column. There is no thickness to hide it in, so a flake that lands badly sits right at the surface and reads as a blemish rather than as depth, and the legs and antlers are thin enough that a flake can bridge them entirely. The leaf is kept out of the thin sections deliberately, which is why the flakes gather in the barrel and the haunch. The rack is the other passage: at this size each tine is a couple of centimetres, cut with one point and undercut where it leaves the beam.
At 50cm this sits on a surface rather than the floor: a console, a sideboard, a hall chest, a wide shelf. It wants light behind or beside it, because the leaf is what the piece is for and a front light closes it down. On a dark surface the flakes read as scattered points and the animal's outline disappears; on a pale one the outline comes back and the gold quietens. It reads from the side, so give it a quarter turn rather than facing it square into the room.
Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The leaf comes in gold as here, in silver or in copper, and a plain clear animal with no leaf at all is made to the same design. Colour is open: an amber, a smoke or a green body will all take the leaf. The turn of the head and the size of the rack are set when it is ordered, and a hind can be made in place of the stag. Sizes run up to a floor-standing stag. It arrives boxed with the legs braced and the rack cased separately; take it up under the chest and never by the antlers. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A gold-flecked stag sized for a console belongs with our deer statues; a light rack branching twice leads to our animal sculptures, and gold that darkens deep in the body joins our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
