Description

Pointed at the tip and pierced from crown to foot, this colourless form carries torn flakes of gold leaf, gathered thickly at the crown and along one edge and scattered more thinly below. Small fins break the outline on both sides. The base is black marble and comes with it.

Gold Leaf Gathered at a Clear Crown

Gold placed unevenly gives a clear form a weight it would not otherwise have. Here the leaf gathers at the crown and down the right-hand edge, so the top of the piece glints from across a room while the pierced lower body stays clear and light. The flakes are torn rather than cut and sit at different depths, catching the light one by one as the piece is turned, and the openings, polished through, pass the eye between the gold and the room behind.

At 83cm with its base it sits at eye height on a sideboard, where warm light can reach the leaf. A lamp to one side or late daylight brings the gold up; a cold downlight leaves it dull. Turn the gilded edge toward the room, with dark panelling or a deep colour behind it to set the gold off.

Gold at the Crown, and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The leaf can be scattered evenly through the whole body or gathered in one place as here, and silver or copper leaf can be used in place of gold. The resin itself can be warmed with a faint colour. Black marble is standard, with paler stones available. It is crated in fitted foam with the marble separate, and it comes out held by its stem and body together, fins untouched. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear fin gilded at its crown belongs with our abstract sculptures; openings passing the eye between gold and room join it to our organic sculptures, and torn leaf held at many depths in clear resin suits our resin sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
