A clear square shaft, this resin column holds one section from the foot to the cap. Leaf is scattered through the material at four or five depths, near ones bright and far ones almost black. Just under the flat cap a panel with a scrolled frame is carved into one face, and a small clear guardian lion is seated on the cap. At the bottom, the shaft is set into a dark block of matching section.
The section is stout for the height, and deliberately so: the shaft reads as a block of material instead of a post, and the panel lands where a hand would rest. The four faces are trued against one another with the shaft lying down, and then the cap is set square to the BASE rather than to the shaft, because a cap squared to the shaft repeats whatever lean the shaft has. The finial is seated last of all, after the cap has been sighted from two sides, so the animal on top stands upright against the room and not against the column.
At 150cm the panel sits at chest height and the cap above the eye of most people, so it stands on the floor and wants space rather than a surface: a stair foot, a hall, the corner of a big room, or one of a facing pair. It needs a level floor. The flecks want daylight from the side, where they separate into depths; a single downlight lands on the cap and leaves the shaft flat and grey. Put a dark wall behind it and the flecks hang in the air like dust in a sunbeam.
Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. What is cut into the panel is settled at order and is made to your own wording, or the face is left plain. The leaf comes in gold, silver or copper, or the shaft can be made without it, and a tint through the resin is offered. The animal on the cap is made as here, as a sphere, or left off. It ships upright, cased, with the finial packed apart and seated on site; keep it vertical and lift by the shaft. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A flecked shaft crowned by its lion finial belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; a sunk panel worked in low relief leads to our classic sculptures, and a piece to mark a stairway or a hall joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
