Clear throughout and filled with gold leaf, this guardian lion in cast resin has the flakes gathered thickly across the chest and scattered more lightly through the mane, the legs and the base. It sits upright, one forepaw raised onto a patterned ball. Seen close, the flakes seem to float at different depths and shift as you move round the piece.
The leaf is held inside the resin rather than laid on it, and the chest carries most of the gold while the mane keeps enough clear resin for its curls to read. Clear resin forgives nothing at the surface, so the whole lion is taken to a full polish, the ball included. Its curls are carved deep, because in a colourless body only the hollows of the mane hold any shadow. Each flake is caught at a slightly different angle, so the gold flashes and dims as the light moves.
At 38cm it belongs on a bookcase top or a cabinet in a hall, and a light from above or to one side sets the leaf glinting. Against a dark wall the clear body shows as an outline and the gold reads hardest. As a guardian it traditionally keeps watch beside an entrance. A plain wall behind it keeps the flakes from competing with a pattern.
Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. The leaf can be thinned to a light scatter or packed through the whole body, and copper or silver flakes are an alternative to the gold. Blue, teal and amber castings of the same lion are offered as well. It is sold singly, or as a pair together with its companion, the clear gold-leaf lion that holds its ball on the right, in whatever size is wanted. The ball can be left smooth or given a plainer pattern. A fitted crate brings it, light enough for one person. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear guardian lion thick with gilt flakes belongs with our lion statues; a paw raised onto a patterned ball leads to our figurative sculptures, and gold suspended through a clear body joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
