Seated upright with both forepaws on the ground, this cast resin lion is clear from the crown of its mane to its paws, with gold leaf held deep in the body. The flakes gather behind the chest and through the flank, so they glint through the clear resin from the front and spread into a broad gilded field as you move to either side. The mane is cut in heavy curls that hold the only strong darks in the piece.
Leaf held deep in a clear body is placed before anything else is decided, because every flake shows through every face. Here it is set behind the chest and along the flank, so it reads as a warm core inside glass rather than as decoration on the surface. The mane is the other slow passage. It is cut in deep, separated curls because a colourless body has no colour to carry the form, and the shadows in the mane are the only strong darks the piece owns. Everything else is taken to a full polish, since any dullness on a clear flank reads as a grey cloud.
This is a piece with a good side and a better side, so it earns a position where people pass it rather than face it: a hallway, a stair turn or the far end of a bookcase. At 47cm the lion is at home on a console or a low cabinet and it does not need a plinth. A raking side light suits it, since that fills the mane with shadow and lights the gilded flank at the same time. Against glass or a window the colourless body almost disappears and only the gold reads, which is worth knowing before choosing the spot.
Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The leaf can be extended across the shoulder and haunch, brought down to a few flakes, or taken out altogether, and silver and copper are offered in place of gold. A tint through the body is available in amber, grey or green, and the mane can be cut shallower for a quieter piece. This is one animal, and a mirror-image lion can be cut to stand opposite it. Any scale is cut to order. It travels in a fitted crate, is lifted under the chest and the haunches rather than by the mane, and is a one-person placement. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear guardian lion with gold held in its core belongs with our lion statues; heavy curls cut into the mane lead to our figurative sculptures, and leaf glinting through clear resin joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
