Flakes of gold leaf are held at many depths through this clear resin guardian lion, so the gold catches the eye from every side of the figure rather than lying on its surface. It sits up on its haunches, head swung round and mouth open, and its mane is a mass of tight round curls running from the brow down behind the head. A collar crosses its chest with a round ornament at the front. At 10cm on its base it sits easily on a desk, a mantelpiece or a bedside cabinet.
At this scale the mane carries the piece. Its curls are small round knots set close together, rising from the brow and running down behind the head, and each one is polished so that it holds its own point of light. The leaf is held through the clear resin rather than laid over it: some flakes lie flat along the curve of the haunch, others turn edge-on, and the deepest read only as a warm glint behind the polished surface. The base is a plain clear slab with softened edges, kept free of leaf so that all of the gold stays in the lion.
Set it where it can be seen at arm's length: at the corner of a desk, on a mantelpiece or between books on a shelf, where a window or a reading lamp beside it can wake the gold. A dark surface underneath sets the leaf off well, and the clear slab lets the colour of the furniture show through beneath the figure. Give it a little space of its own, since the curls and the leaf are what draw people in to look.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The price covers one lion on its clear slab. On commission the gold can be swapped for silver-toned or copper-toned flakes or left out entirely, the resin can be tinted amber or smoke, and the slab can be made in black; other sizes are made to order. It arrives boxed and padded, ready to set out, and it should be picked up by the base rather than by the head or the mane. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Tight curls, an open mouth and a collar at the chest mark this guardian as one of our lion statues; the traditional pose links it to our classic sculptures, and leaf suspended in clear resin to our resin sculptures.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
