Clear Gold-Flecked Twisting Torso Resin Sculpture, 26cm, with hewn blocks twisting through the figure and gold leaf flecks throughout, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Gold-Flecked Twisting Torso Resin Sculpture - 26cm $1,41700
Description

Built from hewn blocks that turn against one another, this cast resin torso twists through its whole height: the shoulders swing one way, an arm folds across the body, and the hips and legs set off the other way. Gold leaf is scattered through the clear resin from top to bottom, so every block carries its own flecks of colour.

Hewn Blocks Turning Against Each Other

Each block reads as a separate plane-sided mass, and the twist lives in the angles between them, so the edges stay sharp where one block meets the next. The gold is held inside the casting rather than laid over it, and where a plane passes through a fleck the leaf breaks the face as a single bright point. No two castings place the leaf in quite the same way, so each piece carries its own scatter. Seen from above, the blocks step round in a loose spiral, which is why the figure never settles into a single front.

At 26cm it fits a desk or a windowsill and is light enough to be turned in the hand. A twisting figure changes from every side, so give it space all round instead of a place against a wall. Side light picks out the gold and the hard edges together. A dark shelf or a stone top beneath it gives the clear blocks an edge.

Leaf Scatter, the Twist and Delivery

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. Copper or silver leaf can replace the gold, at any density, and the resin can be tinted smoke, amber or a pale violet. The twist can be eased toward a straighter stance, and any size can be made. The blocks can be cut squarer or more broken, depending on how rough a surface is wanted. A group is cast in a single run so the leaf matches. It is packed in a sleeved box that one person can carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A torso of hewn blocks turning against each other belongs with our classic sculptures; plane-sided masses meeting at sharp angles lead to our abstract sculptures, and clear resin scattered with gold joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
