Description

Flakes of gold leaf run all through this colourless massif, from the foot to the summit. The skyline is jagged and repeats nothing along its length, and the flake sits at every depth in the material rather than near the surface. Front to back it is shallow, and nothing is supplied underneath it.

Flake Cannot Be Placed, Only Sized

Flake goes where the pour takes it. Nothing about the position of any individual piece is decided by anyone, and a maker who claims otherwise is describing a different process. What IS decided is the size of the pieces and how many go in, and of those two the size is what the customer sees: leaf torn small reads as glitter from two paces and leaf torn large reads as gold. The pieces here are torn coarse for that reason, and the count is then set low enough that the material still looks like rock with metal in it rather than metal with rock around it.

The flake is caught at every depth, so the piece changes with the angle of the light more than a tinted one does. A position with daylight from one side and a lamp from another gives it two readings at once, which is what it is for; a single overhead downlighter finds only the flakes nearest the top surface and the body goes flat. It takes little depth, so a shelf or a mantel suits it as well as a table.

Density, a Coarser Flake, and Delivery

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The flake sits at every depth in the body and nobody places any of it, so the two decisions that matter are how coarse it is torn and how much goes in. A coarser or finer flake is chosen at order, the density is raised or dropped, and a tint is carried through the body with it. A version with no flake is made and is a quieter object that reads as ice. It travels in one padded case with the whole skyline faced and the foot bedded, and one person can lift it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A jagged massif with no notch repeated belongs with our organic sculptures; gold flecked at every depth of it places it in our resin sculptures, and leaf read in two kinds of light suits our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
