Clear Gold-Flecked Mid-Turn Torso Resin Sculpture (26cm) by Giant Sculptures, a twisted abstract figure with scattered gold flecks, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Gold-Flecked Mid-Turn Torso Resin Sculpture - 26cm $1,41700
Description

The body of this cast resin sculpture is twisted: one leg is forward and the shoulders are turned against the hips, so the piece is neither facing you nor facing away. Both arms are cut short at the upper arm and the neck ends in a stump. The gold leaf here is scattered thinly and evenly, so it reads as a haze through the whole body instead of a mass in one place.

A Figure Caught Between Two Positions

A twist is the hardest of these forms to hew, because the planes no longer meet at right angles to anything: each face runs off in its own direction and the edges between them are what tell the eye the body is turning. Cutting them in the wrong order loses the twist, so the piece is worked from the hips outward and the shoulders are cut last against the line already established below. An even leaf scatter is harder to achieve than a heavy gathering: the leaf has to be distributed before the pour and kept from drifting while the resin fills, which means filling slowly from one corner.

A turning figure looks different from every side, which makes it a piece to set out in the open instead of against a wall - the middle of a shelf, a low table, a windowsill in a room people cross. It is small enough to hold in one hand and rewards being picked up. Light from above and slightly behind pushes the haze of leaf forward through the body. It also groups well with one or two other small torsos turned different ways.

Leaf Scatter, Turn Angle and Ordering More Than One

Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. Leaf scatter is set at order and can be brought together into the chest or spread finer still, and silver or copper leaf is offered in place of gold. The turn angle is open, from this half-twist to a nearly frontal stance. Scale is cut to order. A group ordered together is poured in one batch so the leaf matches across it. It travels boxed and sleeved, needs one person, and stands without a mount on any flat surface. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A torso caught mid-turn belongs with our classic sculptures; shoulders cut against the hips lead to our abstract sculptures, and a thin haze of gold leaf joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
